The Faculty of the Professional Development was opened in 2012. In it, the teachers of the secondary and special secondary schools improve their knowledge and improve their professional skills. Offline and online seminars are held for the foreign language teachers of general education schools in the country with the participation of the professors and teachers of the prestigious higher educational institutions of the Institute's partner countries.
The Faculty of the European Languages and Literature was opened on the basis of the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan No. 1264 dated June 12, 2019. The faculty has 4 departments. They are:
1. Department of the Romanic-Germanic Languages
2. Department of Pedagogics and Psychology
3. Department of Social Sciences
4. Department of Information Technology
The Faculty of the European Languages and Literature trains specialists in pedagogical education (German and English), pedagogical education (French and English), pedagogical education (Spanish and English), pedagogical education (Italian and English) on the bachelor's degree.
Language weeks of the professional languages taught at the faculty are regularly held.
The professors, teachers and students of the faculty conduct Olympiads on the German and French languages among the students of the higher educational institutions of the country, the senior pupils of the comprehensive schools of Ashgabat, and hold scientific and practical student conferences on methods of teaching foreign languages in German, French, Italian with the participation of the students of the higher educational institutions of the country.
In order to increase the motivation of preschool and school-age children to study foreign languages, their quick and easy mastering, the Turkmen folk tales are translated into German, French, Spanish, Italian and regularly published, individual lessons on German, French and Spanish with preschool children are recorded and regularly broadcast on the Yashlyk, Turkmenistan, and Arkadag TV channels.
The Faculty of the Russian Language and Literature was opened in 1990. There are 4 departments at the faculty. They are:
1. Department of the Russian Language
2. Department of Theory and Practice of the Russian Language
3. Department of Russian Literature
4. Department of Linguistics
The Faculty of the Russian Language and Literature trains specialists in pedagogical education (the Russian language and literature), translation and translation studies (Russian) on the bachelor's degree.
The professors and students of the faculty actively participate in organizing and holding the International Online Olympiad in Russian among the students of the higher educational institutions of the country and the prestigious higher educational institutions of the foreign countries.
They translate the Turkmen folk tales into Russian, record individual lessons in Russian with the first-graders and preschool children, which are regularly broadcast on the Yashlyk, Turkmenistan, and Arkadag TV channels.
At the Faculty of the Russian Language and Literature, the students study Russian as a professional language at an advanced level. The faculty holds the Russian language week every academic year, during which the students perform and get acquainted with Russian culture.
The Faculty of the Oriental Languages and Literature was opened in 1999. There are 4 departments at the faculty. They are:
1. Department of the Near Eastern Languages
2. Department of the Far Eastern Languages
3. Department of the Turkmen Language
4. Department of Turkmen Literature
The Faculty of the Oriental Languages and Literature trains specialists in pedagogical education (the Turkmen language and literature), pedagogical education (Arabic, the Turkmen language and literature), pedagogical education (Persian, the Turkmen language and literature), pedagogical education (Turkish, the Turkmen language and literature), pedagogical education (Hindi, the Turkmen language and literature), pedagogical education (Chinese, the Turkmen language and literature), pedagogical education (Japanese, the Turkmen language and literature), pedagogical education (Korean, the Turkmen language and literature) on the bachelor's degree.
Language weeks related to the professional languages taught at the faculty are held regularly. During language weeks, the students create decorations and cultural corners based on culture of the language of their specialization, and they also introduce national costumes and musical instruments of these people. Language week ends with a festive atmosphere with entertaining performances, comedies and music performed by the students.
Speaking competitions, creative meetings, talent competitions, lesson competitions are held in the professional languages taught at the faculty. The students of the higher educational institutions located in Ashgabat take part in it. The competition is held in two stages: online and in person.
The teachers and students of the faculty translate the Turkmen folk tales into the Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages in order to increase the motivation of preschool and school-age children to study foreign languages and to learn languages quickly and easily, and individual lessons in the Korean, Japanese, Hindi languages with the first-graders and preschool children are recorded and regularly broadcast on the Yashlyk, Turkmenistan, Arkadag TV channels.
The Faculty of the English Language and Literature was opened in 2019. There are 5 departments at the faculty. They are:
1. Department of English Philology
2. Department of the English Language
3. Department of Theory and Practice of Translation
4. Department of Foreign Literature
5. Department of Physical Culture
The Faculty of the English Language and Literature trains specialists in pedagogical education (English), translation and translation studies (English) on the bachelor's degree.
Students majoring in pedagogical education (English) are taught German and French as the second foreign languages.
The professors and students of the faculty actively participate in the organization and holding of the International Internet Olympiad in English among the students called "International Internet Olympiad in English among the students of linguistic and non-linguistic specialties of the higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and abroad."
In order to increase the motivation of preschool and school-age children to study foreign languages and to learn languages quickly and easily, to translate and to edit the Turkmen folk tales into English, and with the pupils of grades 1-2 and preschool children they participate in recording individual English lessons. These lessons are regularly broadcast on the Yashlyk, Turkmenistan, and Arkadag TV channels.
