Modern methods of teaching foreign languages Scientific-methodical seminar of the English and Russian language teachers

In order to fulfill the order of the President of Turkmenistan given at the extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on February 9, 2024, "Continuous activities should be carried out to improve the professional skills of teachers in secondary and higher education establishments",  professional development trainings on the modern methods of teaching languages are held at the Faculty of Further Professional Development of Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. 

 Scientific-methodical seminars were held for Russian and English language teachers of higher and secondary educational establishments located in the capital and velayats of the country from November 4 to November 16, 2024.  Online sessions, which are related to the development of the education system in a modern way and deepening the knowledge of specialists, on "Russian as a second foreign language", by Maria Lvovna Gordievskaya, the candidate of philological sciences, the associate professor of the Department of Comparative Analysis of Languages of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, on “The importance of teaching Russian as a second foreign language through tests” by Irina Yuriyevna Ilycheva, the methodologist of the Language Testing Center of St. Petersburg State University, on “Current issues in discourseology” by Larisa Vasilyevna Seleznyova, the doctor of philology, the professor of the Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language, on “Extensive management of the lesson” by Dr. John Baker, the professor of Vietnam University of Economics and Finance, on "Extracurricular Learning” by Rob Waring, the professor of Notre Dame Seishin University of Okayama in Japan, on "Methods of Teaching Vocabulary” by A.I. Usmanova, the teacher of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, the candidate of philological sciences as well as presentations by experienced teachers of the institute were held regularly during this seminar.

Special attention in the scientific-methodical seminar was paid to the issues of teaching foreign languages, modern methods and innovative technologies in higher and secondary educational establishments of our country.
