Literary Meeting Symbolizing Friendship and Brotherhood

On September 17, 2024, the event “The Day of Persian Poetry and Literature, as well as Commemorating the Great Poet of Iran, Ussat Shahriyar” was held in the building of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the participation of the teachers and students of the Persian language specialty of Magtymguly Turkmen State University and Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. The learners of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran also took an active part in this event. Mr. Ali Mojtaba Ruzbahani, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan, Mr. Navid Rasouli, the Advisor on Cultural Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan, Sona Annayeva, the head of the Department of the Oriental Languages of Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Bahar Ataniyazova, the acting head of the Department of the Near Eastern Languages of Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages delivered speech in the opening of the event.         

In their speeches they noted that learning Persian is very important in strengthening the friendly, peaceful and good-neighborly relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fields of science, education and culture and at any time it has not lost its importance as the most reliable and advantageous means of mutual trust and respect in the mutual relations of peoples.  

The speakers noted that the translation into Persian of the work Worshipping Mother – Worshipping a Sacred Person, in which the National Leader of the Turkmen people our Hero-Arkadag impressively tells about his beloved people and their sacred notions, is a symbol of the great respect of the neighboring state and its people for the National Leader and the Turkmen people.      

After the speeches, the students and learners demonstrated their creative skills, they read the poems by Magtymguly Pyragy, Shahriyar, Iraj Mirza and other poets in Persian, sang the songs and performed plays on the stage. The competition in drawing a picture of Mohammad Hossein Shahriyar was also held in this event.

In general, we hope that the event “The Day of Persian Poetry and Literature, as well as Commemorating the Great Poet of Iran, Ussat Shahriyar” made a deep impression on its participants and it will contribute to learning Persian, studying not only Persian literature, but also the rich literary heritage of our Turkmen poets who wrote their works in Persian, and it will have a favorable influence on spreading these works symbolizing the people’s spirit in the society from the scientific point of view and making the creativity of the wise personalities of the East available to the young generation.
