A celebration of friendship and brotherhood
As it was reported previously, the II International Mathematical Olympiad, held among schoolchildren at Specialized Secondary School № 131 in Ashgabat, demonstrates the effectiveness of international competitions and subject Olympiads held in our country.
This is also evidenced by the proud words of representatives of the fraternal countries that participated in the Olympiad.
Vanatur SHERENTS,
Student Leader of the Diploma Program of the Shirakatsi International Scientific and Educational Complex of the Republic of Armenia:
- This is my first visit to Turkmenistan with my pupils. I was very impressed by your unique and wonderful country. There are many similarities in our language, culture, and worldview. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the Armenian people also love and read the poems of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy, and study his creativity.
The II International Mathematical Olympiad for schoolchildren was organized at a high level. I would like to especially note the opening ceremony of the Olympiad and the national anthems of each country that were played during it.
An interesting program was prepared for guests from different countries of the world, introducing them to the culture and life of the country. Yesterday, we visited the monuments of great personalities who left their mark on the history of the Turkmen people in the “Ilham” park. Then we watched the magnificent performances of the world-famous Akhal-Teke horses at the State Circus of Turkmenistan.
This Olympiad will certainly further strengthen the friendship and brotherhood between the Turkmen and Armenian peoples and our states.
Hasan ALGHAMDI,
Specialist of the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia:
- We came to Turkmenistan to participate in the II International Mathematical Olympiad for schoolchildren from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Olympiad is very well organized, carefully prepared and fair. The Olympiad will identify young mathematicians who are able to think quickly and inspire them to new achievements in the world of education. The capital Ashgabat amazes with its beauty and cleanliness.
I would like to thank the esteemed President of Turkmenistan for his concern for the highly organized conduct of this Olympiad.
Limin XIA,
A secondary school teacher in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, People’s Republic of China:
- This is my first visit to Turkmenistan. It left a pleasant impression on me. I am very glad to see that the interest of Turkmen and Chinese youth in mathematics is growing day by day. Such international competitions make a great contribution to the development of relations between the two countries. The peoples of Turkmenistan and China are connected by centuries-old experience of friendship, cooperation and good neighborliness. Turkmen-Chinese relations, the historical roots of which go back to ancient times, are currently acquiring a qualitatively new content and are successfully developing.
May Turkmen-Chinese friendship be eternal!
