NATIVE LANGUAGE IS THE SPIRITUAL CONTINUATION OF THE EXISTENCE OF A PEOPLE

Today, a scientific and practical conference was held at Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, jointly organized by the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan on UNESCO and Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, on the occasion of the "International Native Language Day", adopted by the United Nations and its specialized agencies.

As is known, on February 21 of each year, the "International Native Language Day" is widely celebrated around the world. This date originates from the decision to celebrate the "International Native Language Day" at the UNESCO General Conference held on November 17, 1999. In our Independent, Permanent Neutral Turkmenistan, this international holiday is also celebrated on a high level. Our Turkmen language, which traces its roots back to Oguz Khan, is one of the richest languages among the Turkic languages. It is the sacred duty of every Turkmen to respect our mother tongue, which reflects the life, history and culture of the nation, and to pass it on from generation to generation and bring it to the world.

The role of our great personalities, especially the wise poet Magtymguly Pyragy, in the development of our native language and its survival to our days is very important. Our National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, notes this: "As noted at the international forum, if the development of the Persian language depends on the creativity of poets like Ferdowsi, then the Turkmen language and literature also depend on the services of great poets like Magtymguly."

The four worMagtymguly Hero Arkadag contain advice on how to maintain the honor of our native language and preserve it for future generations. Such catchy phrases were reflected in the literary and musical composition “Native language is the spiritual continuation of the existence of the people”, performed by the creative team of the institute’s “Altyn miras” cultural center at the beginning of the conference.

The speakers at the scientific-practical conference also extensively discussed the establishment and significance of International Native Language Day, the role of the Turkmen language in modern society, the glorification of the mother tongue in the wise books of our Hero Arkadag and our Arkadagly Hero Serdar, and the paths our mother tongue has taken from our Motherland to the world.

During the conference, the songs and artistic readings performed by the institute's "Altyn miras" cultural center made a great impression on professors, teachers, and students.

At the end of the scientific-practical conference, the participants expressed their sincere gratitude to our Hero Arkadag and our Arkadagly Hero Serdar, who create great opportunities for preserving the Turkmen language and bringing it to the world.
