Meeting with Beijing International Studies University on the margins of the World Chinese Language Conference 2025
On 13 November 2025, on the sidelines of the World Chinese Language Conference 2025, the Turkmen delegation held a productive and forward-looking meeting with the leadership of Beijing International Studies University (BISU).
The Turkmen side was represented by the Rector of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi, the Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, and a Chinese-language lecturer of Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
The sides underscored that their cooperation is grounded in the Memorandum of Understanding on collaboration in science and education, signed on 11 January 2025 between the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi and Beijing International Studies University.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on expanding bilateral partnership across a number of priority areas, including academic exchanges, professional training, the enhancement of language programmes, and the joint organisation of scientific and cultural activities.
Building upon the provisions of the Memorandum, the Turkmen side proposed deepening cooperation through the exchange of expertise in Chinese-language teacher preparation, strengthening students’ linguistic competencies, integrating digital learning platforms and AI-powered educational resources, and arranging short-term training programmes and summer schools.
Both sides expressed readiness to continue advancing their mutually beneficial cooperation and to promote new joint initiatives aimed at supporting Chinese-language education and further strengthening academic ties between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China.
