Bilateral cooperation is becoming increasingly successful
On February 17, 2025, at Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, representatives of Nottingham Trent University, UK, Professor Martin Seviour and Dr. Sam Barclay, met with the institute's English language teachers.
During the meeting, the distinguished guests introduced Nottingham Trent University, one of the oldest universities in the United Kingdom, which trains specialists in various fields, and talked about their work under the program “Accelerating the Study of English in Central Asia” funded by the British government, the methods actively used in teaching English, and the issues that are of particular interest when teaching English. The participants of the meeting conducted practical testing with the aim of exchanging experiences and improving their professional level. In this practical testing, the teachers participating in the meeting participated as respondents, they were divided into groups of 3-4 people and were asked questions such as “What are 3 similarities in the methodology you use?”, “What are 3 differences in the methodology you use?” and they were given 5 minutes to discuss the answers to these questions, and the teachers expressed their opinions.
The results revealed that all teachers use different technologies, sometimes the same methodology, assess students in the same way, some teachers have lectures, some has practical lessons, and some teachers use artificial intelligence more, while others use it less.
Also, as a result of the teachers' responses to the question posed by the guests, "What are 3 things that make a teacher's job easier and what are 3 things that make a teacher's job harder?", it was revealed that students who are eager to learn, ready-made educational materials, and technology make the job easier, while insufficient time, and sometimes a lack of materials make the job harder, and ways to eliminate these problems were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their gratitude to our Hero Arkadag and Esteemed President for paying great attention to the development of interstate relations, and sincerely wished the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the Arkadagly Hero President sound health, long life, and the constant prosperity of their national and universal interests.
